ACUA's New Funding and NOAA's Accelerator Grants
Plus Flocean’s Deep Sea Desalination and Scottish Offshore Wind Funds
Hello Ocean Friends,
I had a pretty awesome experience last week at the NOWRDC R&D Symposium. I was sitting in the auditorium during the opening keynote when this newsletter was scheduled to be published and when I looked down a row I saw someone else at the conference open up and read through the fresh-from-my-laptop BlueX News. It was pretty cool. Of course, I went down and said hello. Kris, if you’re reading this, thanks!
The experience really hit home for me what a great convening the annual NOWRDC Symposium is. Many of the sessions are online streaming, I recommend checking them out.
Have a good week!
Best,
Will

This week I’m going to do something different. This week NOAA announced $54.3M in awards for Blue Economy accelerators across the US. These are four awesome programs and instead of listing news articles I liked, I’m going to feature these accelerators.
1️⃣ StartBlue Ocean Enterprise Accelerator. With Scripps Institution of Oceanography and The Rady School of Management- Undergraduate Programs.
2️⃣ gener8tor Great Lakes Resilience Accelerator. With partners Chain Reaction Innovations and Mazarine Ventures.
3️⃣ VentureWell Ocean Enterprise Accelerator. Operated by VentureWell.
4️⃣ The Continuum. With Tampa Bay Wave, Seaworthy Collective, St. Petersburg Innovation District, Braid Theory, University of South Florida, Ocean Exchange, and the World Ocean Council.
All four promise to be awesome programs. Exciting to get this influx of funding in one week.
